If you want to print any of the photo's, regional maps or charts open the book for each item.
The Files names for the seperate books are:
Subject Book Name
Photo's Photos.TBK
Regional Maps Region.TBK
Charts Charts.TBK
If you wish to open one of these books, select "Open" from the "File" menu. Then choose one of the books and click "OK." To view the next image once you have one of these books open,
hold down the "ALT" and press the right arrow key. To view the previous image, hold down
the "ALT" key and press the left arrow.
If you do not have a sound board and wish to remove the error messages regarding this you can use the World Factbook 1994 that has the sounds omitted.
To do this:
1. Click on the World Factbook 1994 icon once to select it.
2. Select properties from the program manager file menu.
3. In the command line box find "WFB1994.EXE" and change that to:
WFB1994N.EXE.
4. Click the "OK" button.
5. Double click to launch the World Factbook as you would normally.
DOS:
The batch file on the root: WFB.BAT will get you started.
Steps required:
1. You must be in the drive that contains the CD.
(Do this by typing the letter that is the CD drive,
E.G. type "E:"
where E is the letter you assigned to the CD drive.)
2. Type "WFB"
This is a batch file begins TextWare, which allows you to
access the World Factbook indexed database.
3. If you have trouble viewing the images, exit the World Factbook
and on the command line type: SET TWTMP=C:\, then press the Enter key.
Now launch the World Factbook again by typing WFB.
Can you view the images now? If not call Wayzata Technical Support.
Note: This solution is for the DOS based World Factbook only.
Macintosh:
Double click on the WFB1994.TWC file to access the indexed database.
